The adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's follow-up to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, has a director (Wanted's Timur Bekmambetov), a release date (June 22, 2012), and now is getting closer to naming their choice for the 16th President of the United States. Deadline reports that Benjamin Walker, James D'Arcy, Adrien Brody, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Timothy Olyphant and Josh Lucas are testing for the lead role. The Wrap reported that Eric Bana was discussing the role last month.
Like the book, the movie will follow the revisionist history that Graham-Smith has invented which sees Lincoln as an axe-wielding hunter of the undead whose mother was killed by the bloodsuckers. Bekmamabetov will direct the movie in 3-D, with Tim Burton producing in his shadow.
