There's been very little word to come out of the World War Z camp, but finally cast members are talking about the upcoming adaptation. Brad Pitt recently told E! Online that if the movie works, it could be a trilogy, confirming recent reports concerning a possible World War Z franchise.
If the first one works, it will be a trilogy. If the first one doesn't work, it won't be a trilogy.
Pitt's co-star Mireille Enos, also recently spoke to E! Online (apparently the latest source for zombie movies) at the Golden Globes and discussed the zombie craze.
It's like zombies are the new vampires. It's taking over. But somebody said to me this movie might end the zombie genre because, after this, what else is there to do? It's huge!
Enos' enthusiasm is nice, but she instantly contradicts herself by also claiming that World War Z could be a trilogy.
It was [going to be] from the beginning. That was the hope, that if the first one turned out the way we all anticipate, that it would be great to turn it into a trilogy. It's exciting.
World War Z opens December 21st.
