Since impressing with his directorial work on The Crazies, Breck Eisner has been lining up other projects, one of which was a remake of Escape From New York. Now Eisner is going witch hunting.
Deadline reports that Summit Entertainment is in early talks with Eisner to direct The Last Witch Hunter, a script by Cory Goodman (Priest, Apollo 18) they purchased last year when Timur Bekmambetov was going to direct (he's doing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter instead). Bekmambetov will produce the movie, which obviously follows one of the last witch hunters, a group that keep witches and warlocks in check and are about to repopulate unless said hunter can do something about it.
I dug Eisner's Crazies, even if it lacked a few extra "crazies", and I much prefer him taking this project than anyone remaking Escape From New York.
