Could it be? Could it really, really be? Could [Rec] 2 actually get a theatrical release? Rumors are circulating that Magnolia Pictures will give Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza's sequel a theatrical run starting in July, with the DVD arriving in October. Now, so far, nothing has been confirmed, so this is still just speculation, but what delicious speculation!
For those keeping track, the original [Rec] took forever to get on DVD, but first was turned into the less-satisfying, and more nauseating, Quarantine. Not this time. This time, we (may) get the movie in theaters before Quarantine 2! (By the way, Quaratine 2 is happening, but won't do a copy cat number on [Rec] 2, which may be why Magnolia is considering a release.)
[Rec] 2 takes place about 15 minutes after the original, with Spanish SWAT teams entering the infected apartment building in what should prove to be a bad decision.
