First Resident Evil: Afterlife Trailer Emerges in All Its 3-D Matrix-y Glory

The trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife premiered at San Francisco's WonderCon and it shows that Paul W.S. Anderson is looking to do one thing and one thing well: make a 3-D zombie Matrix. The 3-D aspect is mentioned about every other second while the Matrix-influence is obvious once two Milla Jovovichs jump out a window and start firing behind them just like Trinity did in 2003.

Really good news with the trailer: it looks like Afterlife will be influenced by the Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 games, which could mean good things for the movie. There are even some zombies! Really! They show up, like, twice! Also, does Ali Larter have superpowers now too? Anything is possible in The Matrix Resident Evil: Afterlife! Now, go on and check out that trailer!

Also revealed at WonderCon, Jovovich's desire to make more Resident Evils. "I have a lot left in me, but it is really up to the fans," Jovovich told the crowd. "If they think I look good and they believe it and love it … I will make as many [Resident Evil] films as they want me to make. What makes these films special is that they are made such love and so much passion from everyone involved. Each film stands on its own. The films aren’t made on a business level. It’s not about the studios asking us to write another script. The script comes from ideas of creators and we bring it to the studio. It always comes from the inspiration and that’s what’s fun."

And they make money. Kind of important, that. And why not? I've been critical of all three Resident Evil movies, but I gotta admit, I'll still go see Afterlife.
