Jeremy Renner and Noomi Rapace for Tommy Wirkola's Hansel and Gretel?

Last we checked, Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola's upcoming movie Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters was "beginning casting conversations" and those conversations may be over.

According to TwitchFilm, Jeremy Renner told Norwegian site Dagsavisen at the Venice International Film Festival that he's up for the part of Hansel and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace is up for the part of Gretel in the movie.

We ran the article through a free online translator and this is what we came up with:

About all goes as it will start we directed by "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" in the autumn 2011, says Jeremy flows to Dagsavisen. 39-year-old spills, which was Oscar-nominated for "The Hurt Locker" earlier this year, is in Venice in connection with the new thriller "The Town". He is one of the major new names in American films, as a few weeks starts directed by "Mission impossible 4". And after it will be the according to he even his and Grete, witches and Norwegian producers.

Make sense? Not to us either! EW has an update on the story, which says this is all just wishful thinking:

Renner’s rep tells EW.com that while there have been discussions about the project, there have been no negotiations as yet and there are certainly no deals in place.

With Renner adding big-budget projects like Mission: Impossible 4 and The Avengers to his resume, we kinda figured.
