New Photos and Casting News for SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D

I remember briefly playing Dr. Fisher's copy of Silent Hill 2 and felt it was more a game of traversing a creepy fog than survival horror game, but I didn't play it for long. Upon seeing director Christophe Gans' 2006 adaptation of Silent Hill, however, I thought the director presented the creepy fog I remembered, but perhaps not the most satisfying movie. So, on to a sequel, this time from writer/director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane). Titled Silent Hill: Revelation 3D the production kicked off in Toronto and already has two new images and plenty of casting announcements.

Variety reported last week that Australian actress Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and British actor Kit Harington (HBO's Game of Thrones) had both been added to the cast, with Bloody-Disgusting reporting that Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) would return to Revelation as video game character Harry Mason, father to Clemens' Heather. Bassett has promised a sequel that will remain true to the plot of the third Silent Hill game, but Bean played a character named Da Silva in the first movie. I could be missing something, or it could just be Silent Hill's weird, confusing world being effectively played.

ComingSoon has news of Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger also returning, perhaps in the roles they played in the first movie.

"It wouldn't be the same without some of the original Silent Hill cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah's return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit," said Bassett.

Of the 3-D, cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (The Crazies) said: "With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of Silent Hill than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them."

Check out the two new photos below.

I remember guns not being super effective in Silent Hill, but Adelaide is new to the franchise. She'll figure it out.
