I only had a few days to attend L.A.'s ScreamFest earlier this month, but luckily one of my most anticipated movies was director Eric England's slasher movie, Madison County. Ever since stumbling on the trailer, I've been waiting for this one to get released, so this was my chance to see it. I never bother Rachel, the woman that runs ScreamFest, for a press pass, since I'm happy to support horror movies and buy a ticket and I'm normally trolling for zombie movies more than anything. This year I could only make a few days, so, again, why bother.
The plan backfired on me during the screening of Madison County, which was overly sold out. Without introducing myself, Rachel made me wait for a while to see if any tickers opened up, but after an hour, and knowing the movie was already well into the first act, I took off. Another screening was scheduled on Thursday, but I was already high-tailing it to Chicago for work.
So what's the point? Outright bitterness? Of course! I want to see the damn movie! Instead, I do get to check out the new poster, designed by Tom "The Dude" Hodge. And it's pretty great, too.
