RESIDENT EVIL Director Paul W.S. Anderson to Produce "Found Footage" TV Series

Already shooting Resident Evil: Retribution in Toronto, writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt are teaming with Canada's Entertainment One to develop an one hour, "found footage" series called The Reel.  The spec script was written by newcomer Adam D’Alba.

"When we read Adam’s script, we were genuinely disturbed by the story and fascinated by the idea of a found footage TV show," Anderson and Bolt said in a statement revealed by THR.

For those wondering if The Reel would have anything to do with zombies or swashbucklers or death races — the usual Anderson fare, basically — it does not. According to the report, the show "portrays a young documentarian pursuing evidence of the supernatural, and uncovering the case of two teenagers and a serial killer who use psychological torment to exact bloody vengeance on victims".

So, it's kind of like Milla Jovovich's "found footage" movie The Fourth Kind, only, hopefully won't make anyone tear out their own eyeballs.

To clarify, Jovovich did not direct The Fourth Kind. Someone angry at good movies did instead.
