The upcoming sequel Resident Evil: Retribution is growing faster than the Las Plagas virus. (Anyone? Is this thing on?)
Ok, so far we know that Retribution will have plenty of familiar faces, with Sienna Guillory back as Jill Valentine and Resident Evil cast member Colin Salmon returning as well, though he wouldn't reveal how he's managed to put himself back together after being cut into a million pieces. Recently, we reported that Boris Kodjoe, Michelle Rodriguez and Oded Fehr were also coming back and now two new cast members have been announced.
Deadline reports that Johann Urb (2102) and Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) are joining the cast, though whether they are playing game characters Leon S. Kennedy or Barry Burton is unknown. The report claims that Urb's role is that of "the leader of the Resistance who teams with Milla Jovovich’s Alice character as she battles the Umbrella Corporation and the swarm of undead," which could mean Kennedy. Durand would seem to be a great fit for Burton, but that is unconfirmed.
Jovovich, usually a huge resource for Resident Evil information, didn't reveal which characters the actors will play but did Tweet two videos of a Retribution script reading. We can't embed the videos, but you can watch the first one here (which reveals Guillory and Kodjoe) and the second one here (which reveals Urb and Durand). [UPDATE: Jovovich has Tweeted confirmation that Urb is playing Kennedy.]
AND if u checked out my vid yesterday from the table reading u wld hve noticed Johann Urb! He is our Leon Kennedy n looks jst like him BTW!!
We will still assume that Durand is playing Burton. Ada Wong is also set to appear in Retribution, though who is playing the character is unknown.
