For those still bitter about Left 4 Dead 2, indie game Eric Ruth as come up with an alternative: an 8-bit NES version of Left 4 Dead. Obviously a few changes had to be made to create a NES version, such as "dumbed down" zombie AI, and no molotovs or pipe bombs. "I did keep in a lot, but of course, changes and sacrifices needed to be made for the final product to 'work' as an NES game," said Ruth.
And what has been the response? Valve doesn't know about it yet, but I'm sure (with their love of community creations) that they will find this mildly amusing at worst, and hilarious at best," Ruth wrote on his YouTube page.
Currently only finished with "No Mercy," Ruth is planning to finish all 4 of the campaigns for a free PC download available on January 4.
