Horror fans are more than familiar with Charlie Brewster's attempt to rid his neighborhood of a vampire with the help of late-night horror movie host Peter Vincent in Tom Holland's 1985 classic Fright Night. Like all good horror movies, Fright Night is being remade, with Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) taking over for Holland.
While I admit some trepidation over a Fright Night remake, Gillespie's efforts have landed him the job as the next director to quit Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, so he must have done something right.
The first images for the remake have arrived via Moviefone and ComingSoon depicting Anton Yelchin as Charlie, 28 Weeks Later's Imogen Poots as Charlie's girlfriend Amy, Colin Farrell as the vampire Jerry Dandridge, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as "Evil" Ed Thompson. David Tennant is playing Peter Vincent but is not in the new photos. Check then out below.

This looks promising.

They're looking outside, but we're looking at Pigeon T!

Your pool is so cool, Brewster!

Don't invite him in your house! Or is that The Lost Boys?

That cross might work outdoors, but the pigeon T works everywhere.

Silly girl, put down that pistol! He's a vampire, not a werewolf.
The Fright Night remake opens August 19.
