First, David O. Russell dropped out of his own adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, based on the mash-up novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. Mike White replaced Russell, then also dropped out.
The next director to eventually walk away? Vulture says its Craig Gillespie, who recently directed the Fright Night remake and has directed episodes of Showtime's The United States of Tara and the 2007 indie drama Lars and the Real Girl, which starred Ryan Gosling as a man who was in love with a mannequin that didn't become real when the department store closed.
Gillespie is an interesting choice, and potentially a really good one, which will make his quitting even harder to take. However, it's only a rumor for now, so wait until its confirmed and then prepare for heartbreak.
