Xavier Gens' THE DIVIDE to Debut Uncut in January

For anyone that saw the fantastic-looking trailer for The Divide, you probably got a pretty sweet movie boner. Now Anchor Bay drops the great news that when The Divide opens on January 13, 2012, they will be releasing theatrically the full, unrated directors cut of Xavier Gens' movie. Those that saw it at SXSW or Fantasia 2011, you didn't see it, because now the movie will screen unexpurgated with additional footage.

"Fans of director Xavier Gens' Frontier(s) will be pleased to know that once again he has pulled no punches, and has delivered a kick-ass film that will set the bar in extreme cinema," said Jennifer Roberts, Anchor Bay Film's SVP of Brand Marketing, who was probably psyched to get a quote in the press release. "We felt strongly that we needed to bring his full vision to the screen, and confident this is the version audiences will want to see."

The Divide follows a group of survivors of a nuclear apocalypse who are living in the basement of their apartment building. As the supplies grow more scarce, the survivors turn on each other and begin to descend into madness.

I know, I thought it sounded great, too. Find out for sure January 13, as long as you live in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Denver. More markets will follow.
