Zombieland Writers to Script Cowboy Ninja Viking and Talk Zombieland 2

Score another project for Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Since the success of Zombieland, the screenwriting duo have scored an adaptation of Deadpool, G.I. Joe 2, Venom, and sold their script for Earth vs. Moon. Now, Deadline reports that Rheese and Wernick will work on Cowboy Ninja Viking, based on the graphic novel by writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo and published last year by Image Comics. Disney bought the pitch about a "multiple personality disorder patient trained to be an assassin with three different skill sets and the personalities that come with them tries to bring down the nefarious organization that made him."

So...it's like Wanted mixed with What About Bob? Damn I'm good at this!

While we couldn't be happier for the pair's success, we have to ask: WHAT ABOUT ZOMBIELAND 2? Reese told io9 that they are still working on the script and that, while they aren't signed to contracts yet, that all 4 principal actors would like to return. "They all want to do it. That said, none of them have seen the script yet," Reese told the site. "And if they love it or don't love it, that might impact their decision."

Let's hope they do, since Reese say the sequel would find the gang continuing their journey across America, but, unlike the original, would not include a Bill Murray-esque cameo. Hard to top. Instead, audiences may be more focused on the 3-D.

"In some cases, 3D is just a gimmick, but in a movie like Zombieland, there are plenty of opportunities to use it in fun and creative ways," said Reese. "We're making Z2 a bigger movie. Everything will happen on a grander scale!"

Whenever they get around to making it, that is.
