Keeping up with Milla Jovovich's Tweets from the Resident Evil: Afterlife is a full-time job, but at least it's doing what Sony wants and gives fans and bloggers plenty of material to talk and write about.
Here's a quick overview of the highlights from the weekend. Afterlife started Saturday with some complicated 2nd Unit work involving "alice clones".
right now though, because this sequence is so long and crazy, we r really doing 1st unit work. so paul is here to direct it
and i am here to do some insane stunts! the clones are running and shooting, then crashing thru a huge window
then falling 50 stories, shooting the baddies the whole way down! so rad!
This shot led to more explosions.
ust finished an incredible shot! real trailer moment! me running, semi's blazing, glass exploding in front of me, walls exploding behind me...a one take deal, very precise, we literally just trashed the entire set!lol!
Then Jovovich explained how shooting in 3-D is complicated. Especially when you're trying to punch someone.
when u throw a punch in 2D, you dont really connect with the other person, they doa great "sell" of it by flicking their head and body
now in 3D, we are able to see the space around people, so if the punch doesnt connect, u see it!
Jovovich took Sunday off, but returned yesterday to announce the cast was all there, including a new cast member, Fulvio Cecere.
so all the gang is here this week, pretty much the whole cast. me, ali, went, boris, kim coates(the funniest guy ever!)
norman yeung(in incredible graffiti artistactor, fulvio cecere(another great character actor and kasey barnfield,a GORGEOUS young actress.
Outside of Cecere's casting, Jovovich announced another possible casting bomb:
Valentine MAY b back...
Of course, Jovovich is referring to Jill Valentine, played by Sienna Guillory in Resident Evil: Apocalypse and was suppossed to return for Extinction except her work on Eragon prevented her and her character was dropped. However, that's all that Jovovich mentioned before explaining today's events: what "cheating" means in filmmaking and a tunnel sequence she's in with Ali Larter, Boris Kodjoe and Wentworth Miller.
Stay tuned for more sweet Tweet action!
